New mobile guide helps navigate New Jersey craft beer trail

The New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism is hoping to wow consumers with the state’s growing craft brewery offerings through the launch on November 7th of its innovative Jersey Brews Trail mobile guide.

The Jersey Brews Trail Pass is a free mobile guide to 49 of the most wow-worthy craft breweries throughout the state, all conveniently available to find on the user’s mobile phone. On top of offering brewery recommendations, the pass will also offer discounts at select breweries. After visiting just three trail locations, users will also be eligible to start winning one-of-a-kind prizes and swag.

The trail features breweries all over the state: from Angry Erik Brewing up in Newton all the way down to Coho Brewing Company in Cape May Courthouse – and just about everywhere in between.

The pass is simple to use: consumers simply visit the Jersey Brews Trail page on the Visit New Jersey website, https://visitnj.org/jersey-brews-trail and sign up for the pass. The passport will be instantly delivered to a user’s mobile phone via text and email and is ready to use immediately. There is no app to download, and the pass can be saved to a phone’s home screen for easy one-tap access. When visiting a participating business, users simply ensure their phone location services are turned on to check-in via GPS and count towards their prize. To redeem available discounts, users present their phone to the attendant or staff member.

“New Jersey has one of the top, growing beer scenes in the country and the Jersey Brews Trail Pass is a great new way to highlight our great breweries, while also rewarding the customers that visit them,” said Jeff Vasser, executive director of the New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism. “We are a state with a lot of wows for our visitors and residents alike and the Jersey Brews Trail Pass is the newest way to make folks take notice of all that we have to offer.”

This is a continuation of the New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism’s rollout of themed trails around the state. Some examples include the Anthony Bourdain Trail, that highlights 10 New Jersey restaurants featured on CNN’s Emmy Award-winning Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown and the New Jersey Coastal Heritage Trail, that highlights the natural, maritime, and cultural sites of the coastal area of New Jersey. The state also has additional trails in the works.
