2023 free paper shredding dates in Monmouth County, N.J.

Monmouth County has scheduled 16 paper shredding events throughout the County so that residents can dispose of old documents and confidential files safely.

“The County is proud to partner with our municipalities to provide our residents with multiple opportunities to eliminate unnecessary paperwork and documents,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the Monmouth County Department of Public Works and Engineering. “These free events not only help residents declutter their homes but also can protect their personal information that may be on files such as bank statements, medical records, legal documents and utility bills from identity thieves. On behalf of the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners, I would like to thank our partners for assisting us in offering this important service to our residents.”

All shredding events will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the following locations:

*Saturday, March 25: Atlantic Highlands – Municipal Harbor Parking Lot
*Saturday, April 15: Brielle – Municipal Parking Lot, 601 Union Ln.
*Saturday, April 22: Long Branch – Community Pool Club, 275 Atlantic Ave.
*Saturday, May 6: Marlboro – Marlboro Municipal Complex, 1979 Township Dr.
*Saturday, May 20: Shrewsbury Boro – Shrewsbury Municipal Center, 419 Sycamore Ave.
*Saturday, June 10: – Matawan – Matawan-Aberdeen Train Station, Parking Lot #1
*Saturday, June 17: Oceanport – Oceanport Borough Hall, 910 Oceanport Way
*Saturday, July 15: Fair Haven – Fields at the corner of Ridge Rd. & Dartmouth Ave.
*Saturday, Aug. 5: Neptune Twp.- 2201 Heck Ave. (Recycling Yard)
*Saturday, Aug. 19: Hazlet – Hazlet Pool Club Parking Lot, 1766 Union Ave.
*Saturday, Sept 9: Colts Neck – Town Hall Parking Lot, 124 Cedar Drive
*Saturday, Sept 23: Freehold Twp. – Freehold Twp. Municipal Bldg., 1 Municipal Plaza
*Saturday, Oct. 7: Millstone – Millstone Park, 4 Red Valley Rd.
*Saturday, Oct. 21: Bradley Beach -1015 Main St.
*Saturday, Nov 4: Allenhurst – Beach Club at the end of Corlies Ave. near Ocean Ave.
*Saturday, Nov 18: Middletown – Middletown High School North, 63 Tindall Dr.

County residents may shred up to 100 pounds, which is equivalent to four office paper boxes or four large-sized trash bags. All papers will be shredded on location in the mobile trucks and the event will end once the mobile trucks are full or its scheduled end time. Large binder clips must be removed from documents; staples and paper clips can remain.

This program is hosted by the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners and the participating municipalities: Allenhurst, Atlantic Highlands, Bradley Beach, Brielle, Colts Neck, Fair Haven, Freehold Twp., Hazlet, Long Branch, Marlboro, Matawan, Middletown, Millstone, Neptune Twp., Oceanport, and Shrewsbury Boro.
